WHA Group’s CSR Projects Aim to Make a Difference in the Community





For many years, WHA Group has been engaging with neighboring communities by participating in or sponsoring programs and activities that assist families and social groups enjoy a better quality of life. By addressing issues of relevance to the majority, interaction and communication are encouraged between the company, employees, customers, partners and community members.

Most activities for the months of July and August focused on helping those most affected by the pandemic. WHA Group Industrial Estate Rayong representatives went to Bangbut District in Ban Khai, Rayong, to distribute "survival bags" containing basic necessities and food items to COVID-19 patients, those who had to self-isolate or had lost their jobs during the pandemic. WHA Rayong Industrial Land (WHA RIL) staff members prepared similar packages for residents of Nanglalok Subdistrict, and delivered 100 mattresses to the Taksin Bankhai International Kindergarten Field Hospital in Wat Wai Krong, that could accommodate up to 1,000 COVID-19 patients.

Teams from WHA Rayong Industrial Land (WHA RIL) and WHA Rayong 36 (WHA RY36) distributed food, water and essentials to a community isolation center in Mae Nam Khu Subdistrict in Pluak Daeng, Rayong, and in Nikhom Phattana District, Rayong, respectively.

Drinking water, an essential nutrient to stay healthy, was delivered to several places to ensure that community members stay hydrated during this challenging period. WHA Industrial Estate Rayong delivered 50 cases of bottled drinking water to Ban Khai Hospital and 30 boxes to an isolation center reserved for people at high risk of exposure to Covid-19. Another 50 cases were sent to a State Quarantine Center in Nong Bua District, Ban Khai.

WHA delivered 400 packs of drinking water to the Sanam Dome Daeng Hospital in Rayong's Lhan Rai Temple, for patients and medical staff, and supported the "Have and Share Program" to aid those affected by Covid -19. Another well-appreciated contribution was the delivery of antigen test kits to the Bangbut District Organization in Rayong, which enabled the screening of community members, to prevent further spread of the virus.

WHA also donated 20 packs of drinking water to the Nikhom Phatthana Administrative Organization for the Candle Festival held during the Buddhist Lent celebrations. The company is proud to help promote the conservation of cultural and religious traditions that are important for community members.

Security and Safety for the Community

For the young members of the community, WHA Industrial Development Plc. (WHAID) and WHA Utilities and Power Plc. (WHAUP) jointly donated a check to Nikhom Sang Ton Eng 10 School in Pluak Daeng, Rayong, for the construction of new walls to ensure the safety of students, teachers and staff members.

Concerned about the health of residents, WHA organized the expansion of a water pipe system at a village in Ban Khai district to help households that had no access to running water for a long time.

To ensure the safety of the public, WHAID and WHA UP lent their full support to the Mae Nam Khu, Pluak Daeng Rayong checkpoint that monitors the movement of people in the area. This patrol station was established to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 to residents and other members of the community

WHA teamed up for a concrete road project, Nong Ma Pring Rai 3 line, that was recently completed and delivered. This development has made it easier, safer and more convenient for commuters in the area.

WHA recently supported a project of the Ban Khai Police Station to equip policemen with mechanical skills, so they can assist Thais and foreigners who encounter vehicle problems on the road. The police-mechanics will be prepared to provide free road assistance 24/7.

Caring for the environment

Over 300 trees were planted at Huachad-Rong Namtarn Road in Bang Khai District, Rayong aiming to promote a greener environment and beautify the area. This project was spearheaded by WHA to improve air quality, help reduce soil erosion and enhance the quality of life of community members
